For the first time Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is hosting a retrospective exhibition of Yayoi Kusama’s work throughout Scandinavia until January 24th of 2016.

Born in Matsumoto, Nagano Kusama started creating art at an early age, studying painting in Kyoto in 1948. Frustrated with Japanese style, she became interested in the European and American avant-garde and moved to the United States in 1957 where she then switched to sculpture and installation as her primary mediums.

Kusama became a fixture of the New York avant-garde scene and an influence to her contemporaries such as Andy Warhol and Claes Oldenburg.

IN INFINITY is an exhibition presenting Kusama’s works from more than six decades featuring the diverse artistic media in which she has work in in: visual art, performance, film, literature and design.
